Merry Christmas!

In the beginning was the word, the word was with God and the word was God. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.

Christmas is not a commemoration of history alone, but is a mystery. God's love for you and me, has been manifested in the birth of His only son. Even though we were not there, we could still participate in His birth liturgically and sacramentally in faith. Like the shepherds, all that it takes is a simple faith to recognize Him in the ordinary circumstances of our daily life.

May you have this wondrous experience and may you cherish His eternal love for you this Christmas and always!

Of Christmas and political correctness

In the beginning was the word, the word was with God and the word was God... Nothing that was made was made without Him. And to all who accepted Him, He gave them the right to become the children of God- The Gospel of St.John 1

The Book of Genesis recounts that God's word created this universe and all about it. In the fullness of time God sent His only son born of a woman. The word became flesh and dwelt among us. And we have seen His glory, the glory of the only son of God.

It is this word incarnate that we celebrate at Christmas. This word that became flesh and pitched his tent among us. Living and experiencing the routine of the daily grind like any of us and then dying for our sins and rising from the dead. Denial of Christmas tantamounts to the denial of redemption. For God so loved the world that He gave His only son so that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. And as St. Paul says, Christ died for our sins even while we were yet sinners. If we love Jesus, the savior then we need to accept Him before all men.

Those who speak of political correctness need to have a look at other parts of the world, where each one's religion is dominant almost to the point of theocracy. This great land was founded by its founding fathers on the Judeo-Christian principles. Respecting the religious sentiments of other religion does nto mean an erradication of the great faith upon which this great country is founded, to which majority of its citizens belong and to which the founding fathers were proud to be part of, namely Christianity and its faith in Jesus Christ. Not political correctness but TRUTHFULNESS is what counts.
This is CHRISTmas and let no stooge steal it away.
