PENTECOST & UECNA
Jesus says that God is truth and that we worship Him in Spirit and Truth.We all need the outpouring of the Holy Spirit towards worshipping God in Spirit and Truth. We all need the gifts of the Holy Spirit now more than ever To discern and follow the path, to fortify our faith and to defend it:the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD (IS 11:2)
It is providential also that the Synod of the UECNA meets after the feast of the Pentecost. Let us pray that this Synod be guided by the Holy Spirit. Let this prayer of St.Augustine be our own:Breathe in me, O Holy Spirit,
That my thoughts may all be holy;Act in me, O Holy Spirit,
That I love but what is holy;Strengthen me, O Holy Spirit,
To defend all that is holy;Guard me, then, O Holy Spirit,
That I always may be holy.
