The Clergy Retreat !!!
Monday March 7 all the clergy of the Deanery met along with the two postulants. Our Bishop Reber guided us through the talk, discussions and Holy Eucharist in the quiet surroundings of St.Catherine's chapel. It is great to see young men in the pipeline to join the ministry of God's kingdom.
We are thankful to God for all His blessings and the great responsiblity that He has placed on us to be a beacon of light for someone through the night. Speaking of which reminds my own ordination motto, perhaps it was someone's prayer. But it was a guiding light for my priestly life.
"Lord, let me light my little lamp
No matter how small.
It may be a ray of hope for someone through the night"
Let us continue to light little lamps along the way lest we be tempted to curse the darkness. Our church can be that faith hope and love that He intended every church to be, sustaining and supporting the faith of the people and not misleading them. Let us remember that those of us who mislead, greater accountability awaits us when the Master Returns ! So let us girdle up and start being faithful stewards even in the midst of changing world and fun loving culture.
